A shot where I try to understand the world from above the water. I'm on a boat off the coast of Capri Island, which has been used as a resort since the Roman Empire. The sailor set his route right in the middle of the rocks and takes us towards the beach where we will swim that day. As I left the port and got closer to the Faraglioni Rocks, God's gift to the Italians, I felt its majesty. Thousands of years ago, such coastal rock formations were used as beacons with burning fires atop them to signal safe navigation. These rocks are called lighthouses. As the boat approaches the rocks, a legendary belief comes to my mind. If you kiss your lover while passing through these rocks during the boat tour, it will bring you luck that will last a year. I took this shot before it was too late and immediately prepared for the kiss...a wonderful year was waiting for me after the rocks.
